Pool Attendant

Position
Summary
Maintaining the pool and the fitness center in a clean
orderly fashion while responding to guest needs. Booking Guests for Pool swimming times.
Education & Experience
· Minimum
of Grade 11, related experience in pool or lifeguard.
· Lifeguard
certification is an asset.
Tools & Equipment
· Large
vacuum cleaner, hand tools and other cleaning equipment.
Physical Requirements
·
Must be
capable of lifting, bending and standing on concrete and ceramic tile for long
periods.
· Flexible
working hours, including weekends
Mental Requirements
·
Excellent
oral communication and interpersonal skills.
·
Must
be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and
accurately.
·
Must
maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
·
Must
be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and
issues raised by co-workers and guests
·
Must
be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic
arithmetic functions.
Key
Responsibilities
·
Supervises
and maintains the pool and fitness center in the best interest and safety of
hotel guests
·
Opens
and closes pool at scheduled hours
·
Ensures
cleanliness of pool area including changing rooms, supplies of clean towels
·
Maintains
safety equipment and first aid materials
·
Maintains
and checks water for chemical levels
·
Requisitions
supplies for pool area
·
Ensures
safety regulations.
· Assists in pool side activities, guest programs and special events
·
Assist
guests in booking swim time and answering questions
·
It is the responsibility of the pool attendant to
follow safe work practices while on duty as well as to ensure that the fitness
center and pool area are ready for guests at the scheduled hours.
·
During this time and prior to leaving the pool,
fitness center, and sun bathe areas are maintained to the highest standard in
conjunction with quality control of the pool water
· Other
duties as required
ALL Digby Pines Resort employees are special safety
and security agents and whenever possible, are to report or correct and safety
or security deficiencies. They are to be
constantly on the alert for any unsafe or unsecured areas, which may threaten
the well-being of guests or co-workers or the maintenance and security of the
hotel property and react accordingly.
This hotel functions 7 days a week, 24 hours a day,
from mid-May to mid-October each year.
All employees must realize that we schedule as business dictates.
