Manager on Duty

Digby Pines Golf Resort and Spa is seeking a confident, decisive, and service-driven Manager on Duty. This is a leadership position responsible for overseeing resort-wide operations, guest experience, safety, and service recovery across all departments.

About the Role

As Manager on Duty, you will:

·       Serve as the senior operational authority during assigned shifts (primarily evening shifts)

·       Direct cross-department operations across Guest Services, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Spa, Golf, and Maintenance

·       Lead service recovery conversations and guest escalations

·       Ensure safety, security, and operational continuity

·       Conduct property walkthroughs to maintain presentation and performance standards

·       Support event execution and high-volume resort activity

·       Protect revenue integrity and enforce policies and procedures

·       Produce detailed shift reports and communicate directly with senior leadership

·       Be the visible leadership presence guests and staff rely on each evening

Schedule & Seasonal Structure

·       Five (5) shifts per week

·       Primarily evening shifts, including weekends and holidays

·       Occasional daytime shifts during peak season (May–October)

·       Winter scheduling may include reduced hours, Front Desk coverage, or seasonal layoff in accordance with business levels

·       This role is designed for someone who understands the rhythm of seasonal resort operations.

What We’re Looking For

·       2–3+ years of hotel or resort supervisory experience

·       Strong leadership presence and confident decision-making ability

·       Proven experience handling guest complaints and service recovery

·       Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations

·       Strong communication and organizational skills

·       Hotel Property Management System is considered an asset (ResortSuite)

·       We are seeking someone who can take ownership of the operation in the absence of senior leadership, not just observe it.
